Journalist spots one thing Chelsea owners did that could suggest Pochettino decision made

A journalist has spotted one thing that the Chelsea owners did yesterday that could suggest that a decision has already been made on the future of the Argentine boss at the club.

Chelsea were playing out their last game of the season against Bournemouth, a game they ended up winning 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to secure some kind of European football for next season again and a top 6 finish.

With all things considered and everything that has gone on this season, how poor it was at times and how gloomy it was during large periods of the season, finishing 6th in the end and qualifying for Europe simply has to be seen as an achievement in the end, even though standards need to be higher and next season nothing less than Champions League qualification will be good enough.

But even though Pochettino has achieved that finish in the end with a strong season run in, there is still uncertainty around his Chelsea future and whether he will be in charge next season or not. It’s been reported that there will be a two-way review meeting happening this week and a decision will be made then.

But has that decision already been made by Chelsea’s owners?

Key thing spotted

Telegraph journalist Matt Law noticed that Pochettino was not mentioned at all in a message from Todd Boehly and co-owners Clearlake Capital that was printed in the matchday programme for the final game of the season.

The message was long, and it honed in on a few things and even mentioned Women’s boss Emma Hayes. But there was no mention of Pochettino at all.

It could be quite telling, as you’d have expected him to be mentioned. But we will have to wait and see any official lines from the club now moving forward this week to see the fate of Pochettino for next season.
